Artist Support Pledge

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic many artists have found themselves without work, exhibitions being cancelled and sales disappeared. In an attempt to alleviate some of this stress artist Mathew Burrows has instigated #Artistsupportpledge

It means I will be posting paintings on Instagram for a reduced rate at £200 or less and every time I reach £1000 I pledge to buy another artists work. I will post my first painting on Tuesday 14th April.

This is now finished. With a donation from all the sales through The Artist Support Pledge on instagram I raised £1200 for the NHS Charities Together Campaign in aid of the NHS Charities COVID-19 Appeal.

‘London, Venice, Coast & Country’

Solo Exhibition

14-18th May  9am-6pm

@‘The Studio’ 73 Glebe Place, Chelsea, London SW3 5JB

‘I am thrilled to be holding my first solo show in Chelsea, London. I have over 80 recent paintings with some large oils of Venice and London and small plein air paintings. Subjects include The Thames featuring Albert Bridge, Chelsea & Battersea areas. Snow scenes and the English countryside, harbours and coastline. The work reflects my love of light and colour. I am a contemporary impressionist and it is said my work brings a sense of joy.

The paintings will be in a bespoke handmade frames. I have sourced the best framer, in my opinion. ‘The Artistic Framing co.’ in Waterlooville with over 40 years experience, they will compliment my work and in homes to come.

History of Glebe Place

The Chelsea location is fitting venue for Clare’s exhibition as artists have lived in Glebe Place for over a 100 years. To name a few – Walter Sickert and Alfred Munnings and more recently Frances Bacon have all lived in Glebe Place.

No. 73 is an old artists studio converted in a beautiful galley space. The gallery has a stylish homely feel with Victorian features, a fireplace and high ceilings. It suits Clare’s work perfectly
